Swivel and turn plates and Swivels
What goes between the legs of a bar stool and the seat? A swivel of course. Swivels are the device between the seat and the frame that allows the seat to rotate. There are several types and sizes of swivels Our default swivel is about a 6" x 6" square the revolves 360 degrees. We have a similar swivel that also revolves 360 degrees but the plates have a 3 degree pitch. The pitch allows the bar stool with a back to have the back lean 3 degrees back and makes it much easier to sit in to the seat and be comfortable. The next type of swivel is the return swivel. This swivel comes with a 3 degree pitch for a seat with a back. The main difference is that when no on is sitting on the seat, the seat revolves back to center. If you turn it to the side, it turns back on its own. This type of swivel is the best for higher end bar stools with backs because they look great when they turn back and face the bar.
