EAMES LOUNGE CHAIR
Who doesn't like a good classic? Especially when it's still so current, so modern, so unique as if the decades haven't gone by. The Eames Lounge Chair is one of those chairs where you sit down and never want to get up again. Instead, you want to take it home with you. It's designed to make you feel like a ball in a used baseball glove. Can you imagine that? And the feeling is similar, thanks to its soft upholstery, superb comfort, and high-quality materials. In this design, the couple formed by Charles and Ray Eames created one of the most emblematic and current interior design pieces.
It is timeless and, at the same time, one of the most modern pieces with character. This Charles and Ray Eames creation returned to the limelight after showing its handcrafted manufacturing process in Madrid by the hand of "flagship store" Gunni & Trentino. Soon, we will have it on display in our #modusistema showroom in Las Mercedes, Caracas.
The Eames Lounge Chair and its footrest, whose exact names are Eames Lounge (670) and Ottoman (671) respectively, have been marketed since 1956, following development work by the designers Charles and RayEames for the furniture manufacturer Herman Miller. This armchair was the first object designed by the Eames couple to be marketed on a large scale. And it is part of industrial design objects that have been conceived by the Eames couple, with the aim of "having the warm and attractive appearance of a baseball glove used at first base".2
A TIMELESS DESIGN
They say there's nothing like the classics, and the Eames Lounge Chair, by Swiss brand Vitra, proves it. Since Charles and Ray Eames in 1956 designed it, it has become an emblem of style and quality, although its lines are anything but classic! However, they are still trendy and make this set a unique piece for the living room.
Another feature of the Lounge Chair is that it is entirely analog; it does not have any mechanism. Instead, it is rotating and has a lifetime warranty. "We make sure to fix your Lounge Chair even if it is 50 years old", says Vitra.
LIGHTWEIGHT AND EXTRA COMFORTABLE
What inspired Charles and Ray Eames? They intended to make an updated version of the old English club chairs. And they surpassed themselves. The Lounge Chair is spacious, proportionate, light, and elegant, as well as exceptionally comfortable.
CHOOSE THE FINISH AND THE COLOUR OF THE LEATHER
It is available in a variety of finishes. The wood can be rosewood, the original design option, or black ash, oak, or cherry. And the leather, in many different colors, can be premium or natural. It is also a piece that will increase in value over time. According to Vitra - the company that created this design - "an original design can now be priced at 40,000 euros".
A LITTLE TALLER, A LITTLE BIGGERAnd as times are changing - and we are now a little taller than we were in the 50s - you can not only buy the original design, perfect for people up to 1.70 m; but there is also a model with 4 cm more height and a depth of 6 cm more in the seat. "This guarantees total comfort for every
