Our chrome hairpin table legs are made to look exactly like the twin tube chrome legs of the 1950s. When you take our set of legs and add them to your retro table top, you will have a perfect retro 1950s table. We recommend using our legs with tables that are approximately 1.25 inches thick. Chrome hairpin legs were very popular on the Formica tables that were sale in the old catalogs like Sears and Roebuck. I purchased some chrome chair pads off of ebay that were supposedly from an old Sears catalog. They were made of cracked ice vinyl and I wanted to see what cracked ice vinyl from the fifties looked like. I was shocked to see how small the seat and back were. Our chairs aren't that large but they are still much bigger than the chrome chairs of yesteryear. They are called hairpin legs because they resemble a hairpin. The are joined together like a hair pin, but they are joined at both ends because there is a top plate. When you order a set of 4 retro chrome 1950s legs you will receive 4 actual lets for your table. Please make sure that you the screws you use to attach the Formica table top to the legs are longer than the table is deep. The last thing you want is to pierce your retro table with the screws when attaching the hair pin legs. In addition to working with High Pressure Laminates from Formica, we also work with Wilsonart and Pionite. Formica is the most famous and we use them for most of our solid color patterns and wood patterns. When it comes to custom logo tables, we use Wilsonart. Wilsonart is the leader in custom printed laminate. They can make a 4x8 laminate sheet with a logo and the finished product is the same quality as a High Pressure Laminate counter top like Formica. There are two basic styles of high pressure laminates used for tables. There is matte and glossy. We usually order matte because it is more forgiving to daily use but the glossy does look pretty awesome. If you aren't sure the color that you want, we can always send swatches of the laminates or you can go to Formica's website. The hairpin legs are brand new but they are made to look exactly like the double tube hairpin table legs of the 1950s. We also have a single round column leg that might be what you are looking for. We used the single column style leg in my family's house for our kitchen table for decades.
